Answers to common microblading questions to prepare you for your appointment and aftercare.
Microblading typically lasts 12–24 months. Longevity depends on skin type, oiliness, sun exposure, and skincare. Many clients schedule a 6–8 week perfecting touch-up, then annual or biennial refreshers to maintain color and crisp hair-stroke definition.
Most clients report mild discomfort rather than strong pain. We apply topical anesthetic before and during microblading to minimize sensation. Discomfort typically decreases during the session, and healing soreness fades within days; follow aftercare to reduce irritation and support pigment retention.
Avoid blood thinners, alcohol, and excessive caffeine 24–48 hours before your appointment. Stop retinol, chemical peels, and eyebrow waxing or tinting at least two weeks prior. Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows and bring reference photos for desired shape and color.
Initial healing includes redness and light scabbing for 5–10 days. Pigment looks darker at first, then softens as skin regenerates. Full healing and color settling take about 4–6 weeks, after which a recommended touch-up refines shape and pigment retention.
Microblading suits many skin types, but results vary. Oily or very textured skin may experience faster pigment fading or softer strokes; in those cases we may recommend a nano or combination technique. A consultation determines the best method for your skin and goals.
Aftercare is essential: keep brows dry for the first 5–7 days, avoid heavy sweating, makeup, pools, and saunas. Clean gently and apply recommended ointment sparingly. Follow all aftercare steps to prevent infection, support healing, and maximize pigment retention for long-lasting results. Schedule your touch-up.
