Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is safe for most skin types when performed by a licensed technician. During consultation we assess skin condition and sensitivity, tailoring intensity. Those with active rosacea, eczema, open wounds, or certain medications may need alternatives or medical clearance.
Most clients see visible improvement after one treatment, but optimal results usually require a series of four to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Your esthetician will recommend a personalized plan based on your concerns and skin response.
Recovery is minimal; most clients experience mild redness and sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid direct sun, heavy exfoliants, and hot showers immediately after. Gentle moisturizers and SPF are essential. We provide aftercare instructions to ensure calm, healthy healing.
Microdermabrasion improves superficial acne scars, rough texture, and light hyperpigmentation by encouraging cell turnover. Deeper scars or severe pigmentation may need combined treatments like microneedling, chemical peels, or laser. A tailored plan will identify the best combination.
Stop strong retinoids or exfoliating acids several days before treatment as advised. Microdermabrasion can be combined safely after skin has acclimated; your technician will advise timing. Avoid active ingredients for a few days post-treatment to prevent irritation.
Avoid waxing, chemical peels, or aggressive exfoliation for at least one week prior. Discontinue topical retinoids as instructed. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Bring any skincare product list and disclose medications during consultation for a safe, effective treatment.
